Don't get me wrong. I am thankful for Kayelynn, Seth, Paige, Brian. I am thankful for my family and my friends. I am thankful for this little angel I'm carrying.
It's so hard to be thankful though.
My step-dad's mom (My Nana) has been battling cancer for a while now. She recently went to the hospital because her pain was unbearable. They discovered her tumors have doubled in size in the past month. The doctor said he would be surprised if she made it to see Summer, possible even Spring.
Then, last night, someone who was basically family (My step-dad's cousin), was killed in a car accident. I grew up with him and his sister. We were super close when we were little. I hadn't talked to him in probably a year. Maybe a little less. Time got away from us. He has a baby on the way. A little girl. He was an amazing person. Had a huge heart. He was only 23! I just can't believe he's gone. Makes you really open your eyes and realize that life is too short. What's it take? 5 seconds to message someone on Facebook to see how they are doing? To say hello and tell them you miss them?
So, as the Holiday's creep up on us, take 5 seconds to send someone a message or give them a phone call. You never know when they might be taken from you.

ReplyDeleteLife is far too short, especially for someone as young as him. R.I.P.
