So, I know I have been missing for a little while. Lol. I haven't been a very good blogger or commenter. Figured I would explain myself.
Monday: my lower leg was cramping and aching and I figured I had had a leg cramp in my sleep and just didn't remember.
Tuesday Night.: I started having chest pains though, and decided to go ahead and go to the ER. I get to the ER and they do an EKG, chest X-ray, and a CAT scan. They were worried about a blood clot since I had been having cramping and aching in my leg. The chest X-ray, CAT scan, and EKG all came back normal. They released me with a prescription to get an ultrasound on my leg to make sure there wasn't a blood clot in my leg. They also said to come back in if my chest pain got worse.
Wednesday: I mad a doctor's appointment and she did a urine test. It came back that I had either a UTI or bladder infection. She prescribed me antibiotics and told me to follow up in 6 weeks. Later on my chest was hurting really bad again so I headed back to the ER. They did another chest X-ray and said that there was no clot in my lungs or heart, and they though I had some inflammation of my ribs.
Thursday: Got my leg ultrasound. Later on I started breaking out in hives. Call my doctor and she says to go to the ER because it sounds like I am having an allergic reaction to my antibiotics. Go to the ER and they say it's definitely an allergic reaction. They prescribe me new antibiotics.
Friday: I start breaking out in hives again. I decide to just stop taking the new antibiotics too, just in case I'm allergic to them too.
Saturday Night: I notice I'm breaking out in a really weird rash. It isn't hives and it isn't raised at all. I call the on call doctor at my doctors office and he says go to the ER. So, I go. Sure enough, it's not an allergic reaction to the drugs, but a drug reaction. You know the fine print that says "These symptoms may result from taking this drug?" Yea, well I got one. It's called petechiae. Pretty much it causes broken capillary blood vessels and the blood is going under my skin. The ER doctor prescribed me steroids. I have to make another doctor's appointment for tomorrow. Hopefully we get this all straightened out.
Petechiae can be signs of something more serious, but the doctor said since I had just been on a new antibiotic and all my blood tests came back normal she thinks it is just a drug reaction. It can be a sign of Leukemia, lupus, H1N1, and all kinds of other yucky stuff.
So anyway, that's why I have been gone all week. 4 trips to the ER, a trip to the doctor, 3 trips to the pharmacy, and a trip to the hospital to get a leg ultrasound. :(

What are you doing today??
The temperature her in Southern Ohio is dropping. The high yesterday was 63. It was cold!!! I already unpacked all of the winter clothes a couple of weeks ago, so today it's time to pack away the summer stuff!!
We are saying goodbye to sandals, shorts, bathing suits, and tank tops.
I'm leaving out skirts. We have a huge supply of leg warmers and pantyhose to go under them. I'm also going to leave out some short sleeve shirts too, just in case. I'm pretty exited.
My house is also getting a nice cleaning today. Our weekend was filled with family, fun, and soccer games, so it got pretty neglected. I already have the washer, dryer, and dishwasher going. Fun fun.
Oh, and I know Christina posted about this already, but I have to too.... More Business of Being Born.. AH! Amazing. I've already watched 2.5/4 of the episodes. I am in love. I love how they had celebs on there talking about their experiences. I am really looking into the option of a home water birth for our next baby... I don't know if I will be able to though with the combination of Kayelynn being born preterm and my miscarriage. I'll have to look into it.
Anyway, if you have Netflix, I highly recommend the Business of Being Born and More Business of Being Born.

I torture my child.
Someone on Cafemom just told me that I torture Kayelynn and Paige because they are Rearfacing at 2 and 4..... UHM... Really?
So let me get this straight.
I ERF because it is 500% safer. That's torture?? To make sure they are safe in the car.
That's okay. When we go somewhere I know 100% that they are as safe as possible, and I know they are 500% safer than any other forward facing child.
People, please educate yourselves. Just wait. The law WILL be changed and it will be the LAW to rear face until 2 years old. Then I guess everyone will be torturing their kids.

Soccer.
Seth is a good little soccer player!!
He always scores more goals than anyone!! I think he tricks people because he's so little and they don't expect him to be so awesome.
For example. Today he made 4 out of the 5 goals on his team.. All in the first 3 quarters. And, they made him sit out in the 4th quarter to give the other kids a chance. We promised him $1 for every goal he makes... Plus him mom gives him $1 per goal too.. So he's making some good money! He has 2 games a week.
I can't wait until Kayelynn is old enough to play soccer!! Hopefully next year. We'll see.

Want to see what I made?!?!
A bow hanger!!!
for Christmas I made each of the girls a bow hanger.... That lasted for a couple months but we had too many bows! So, I had to make a new one.

Thank you Pinterest for giving me the amazing idea of the head band thingy. Lol.

My Turn! What Kind of Mom am I?
I do NOT believe in co-sleeping. If you choose to do that - that's great! Whatever works for your family! With our family though, it just doesn't work. There are exceptions to this rule though. For example - Last night I woke up to Kayelynn screaming her little heart out going "Mommyyyyy" over and over again. She had a bad dream I think. I tried laying in her bed with her but she just couldn't sleep. So, she came into bed with us. For the most part though, if they are sick we sleep in the living room on the floor in sleeping bags. We do this for 2 reasons. 1.) I do not want a 5 year old sleeping in my bed. Not happening. 2.) Seth and Paige aren't allowed in my bed.. Therefore, I'm not going to let Kayelynn do it either. I believe in treating them the same. I don't want Seth and Paige thinking that Kayelynn is more loved etc. I'm about 90% sure that it might be illegal for Seth and Paige to sleep in bed with Brian and I.
I believe in bedtimes! Bedtime is 8PM at our house. Again, there are exceptions to this rule... Mostly for Seth and Paige. If they come over and Brian works late they sometimes get to stay up an extra hour to see him. We get baths, brush teeth, read a story and then it is lights out!
I believe in spanking. Today I had to spank Kayelynn right in the middle of WalMart. I do not believe in waiting. Kayelynn needs to know that her behavior is not going to be tolerated. I give her more than once to listen. I will also let her know if she doesn't stop she will get spanked. If she continues she gets spanked on her butt. We only spank on the butt - sometimes a smack on the hand. Never anywhere else and never with anything but the hand. I always try a stern voice and timeouts first... But sometimes she needs an old fashioned spanking.
I do not believe in letting Kayelynn walk around looking anything but unrepresentable... Ever. She has NEVER been dressed in just a diaper. She always has clothes on. She always wears socks and shoes. She is always dressed appropriate for the weather. There is nothing I hate more than going to the store in the dead of winter and seeing a kid in just a T-shirt. REALLY?
I believe in breastfeeding - even though I didn't get to breastfeed Kayelynn. I wish I could have been able to so badly.
I believe in vaccinations... Which is weird because I haven't had any since I was 4 and none of my 5 siblings have any at all. I don't, however, believe in the flu vaccine. I think it's pointless. It gives me the full blown flu every single time I ever got it. So, no more for me or Kayelynn. Especially since the started mixing it with the H1N1 vaccine.. And that caused too many problems in people.
I believe in introducing solids early. Kayelynn got rice cereal at 2 months and baby food at 3 months. Her doctor threw a fit but I am the mother and I made the decision. At 2 months she was eating NON stop every 2 hours. As soon as I started rice cereal she started sleeping and eating like a 'normal' baby. Lol. It worked for us.
I believe in teaching my own child. Like previously stated, if something works for your family - great. But, those things don't always work for everyone. For example, I do not believe in preschool. I believe in teaching your own child. Kids today pass around horrible behaviors and are just plain cruel. So, I will probably home school Kayelynn. I will make sure she is around other kids her age, but she wont be spending 8+ hours a day with them.
I believe in making Kayelynn know the consequences of her actions. If she makes a mess she cleans it up. I'm not doing it for her. If she shows that she's doing it I'll help her, but she has to prove she can do it first. I hate seeing parents who do everything for their kids. Seriously. Your child wont get hurt from picking up their mess.
I am a car seat nazi. Bad. Kayelynn will RF until the absolute max of her seat. And, knowing me, I'll probably end up getting her another one that RF's for longer. She's a tiny little thing so we'll make it pretty far.
That's all I can think of for now. Lol.

Rainbow Dash.
So, Brian and I went to Wal-Mart to get a few things. We have a birthday party to go to on Sunday for my BFF's son, so we had to pick out a gift. As we're leaving the toy isle Kayelynn starts jumping up and down with excitement. She had found a Rainbow Dash pony. (From My Little Pony.) She already has Pinkie Pie, but she LOVES Rainbow Dash. She knew exactly who it was. It was cute. So, we had to buy it. She went to bed with it. Lol. She even made me kiss it goodnight.
She is addicted to "Meet the Colors." It's from Preschool Prep Company. It's really annoying to me - But all 3 kids LOVE it. Kayelynn watches it every night when she goes to bed. It basically has all the colors and for five minutes straight it will show red in a thousand different shades. And it will have a little red poofy guy who is farming. And is says 'Red' over and over a million times for 5 minutes. Then it's on to the next color. Lol. I like that it's educational... I just think it's annoying.
So, some stats on Kayelynn.
She is 23 pounds now!
She is 35 inches long and has a torso length of 12 inches.
She wears a size 6/7 shoe... It depends on the brand.
She wears a size 4 diaper finally.
She wears 2T clothes... But some 3T also fit.. Which is weird since she is so tiny.
She is obsessed with singing her ABC's and The Lion King songs.
She loves princesses and can name them all.
She knows circle, triangle, star, heart. We're working on the rest.
She knows most colors.
She can recognize W,A,B,D.
Her favorite word is constitution. She says it all the time.
She talks A LOT now. It never stops. She surprises us all the time.
She likes to be independent. She likes to dress herself, undress herself, brush her own teeth. All that stuff. So, it turns into a little fight sometimes when I have to help. No way am I letting my 2 year old brush her own teeth completely alone. Lol. I need to make her a dentist appointment... I keep forgetting. Lol. She's going to flip out. She hates doctors so I know it will be hard to get her to stay still so someone can poke around in her mouth. She doesn't need to go, but I'd like her to.
She is a really good helper. She cleans up her messes. She says please, thank you, and you're welcome. When she's done eating she rakes her plate into the garbage and then puts it into the sink.
Okay, I'm done bragging now. Lol.
Oh, and I have to add a funny story.
Brian and I are always talking about car seat safety now. He actually points things out to me when he sees someone doing something wrong. Well, we were on the subject of people claiming their kids have cramped legs at 12 months old. I was telling him how most kids will prop their legs onto the back of the drives seat or whatever because it hurts for them to just hang. I was like "Think about it. Even now at 21 I can't just let my legs hang off the couch. I'm too short for them to touch the ground and if they just hang they fall asleep and start hurting. So, I always sit Indian style." Well, a couple days after this conversation we were going somewhere and we had the Paige with us. I looked back at her and she had her leg in this weird position. It was bent backwards and her foot was by her butt.
Like that ^ Only she was in her carseat so it looked even more uncomfortable. I asked her why she was sitting with her feet bent all weird and she replied "It hurts when my legs hang down."
I looked at Brian and said "Just sayin'."

Projects.
We made salt dough necklaces.
2 Cups Flour
1 Cup Salt
Eyeball water and mix until it feels like playdough.
Roll out how you want and cut into shapes. We used mini cookie cutters.
Bake at 250 degrees for 2 hours. Let cool and then paint.
*If you are making charms for necklaces use a straw to poke holes before you bake.

Sorry the pictures are horrible. I uploaded from my phone. Last time I do that.
Next we made sun catchers.
*This is not my picture. I stole it from pinterest.*
You use a muffin pan/cake pan. Line completely with beads and make your desired design.
When finished bake. I guessed at the temp and time. I just took them out when they looked melted.
I didn't like ours though. We didn't use enough beads so they didn't turn out all too well. We'll be doing this one again though and we'll take pictures then.
