Time to vent.

As you know, Heather's C-section was scheduled for today at 8:00AM. They told her to be there at 5:30AM so they could get her all hooked up to her IV and all that exciting stuff. I got up at 4:00AM and left my house by 4:20. At about 4:40 Heather called and told me that the hospital called her. Apparently they called her mom, which is the first part that is messed up. Heather is 20 years old... Why are they calling her mom and not her. Anyway, they told her mom that the doctor had just woken up and didn't feel like doing the C-section that early and they would call her around 7 or 8.

I was already on my way so I just went to her house anyway. When I got there she called the hospital back her self to ask what was going on. The head nurse was like "I told them not to wake you." Heather was like "You called me a half hour before I was set to leave.... My alarm woke me up and I was already up getting ready." The lady then went on to explain that they had over booked the hospital and there were no spare beds... WTF. She again went on to say that she would call around 7 or 8 to let Heather know what was going on. Heather told them to make sure they called her ASAP because she has diabetes and can't go all day without eating. (They told her not to eat after midnight the night before because of the surgery.)

Well, 7AM comes around and the hospital calls Heather to let her know that there are still no open beds and they are canceling her C-Section. SERIOUSLY. It was a scheduled C-Section. Are they that stupid. And I don't believe them about not having any beds. They have a million rooms and they do 2 people per room. You're not going to tell me that if Heather was in true active labor on her own that they would send her away, not going to happen.

Anyway, they made her go to the doctor for a stress-test and to check her fluids. While she was there they couldn't get her blood pressure down so now her C-Section is rescheduled for 5:00PM tonight. Hopefully they don't change their minds again.

She was supposed to get her C-Section on Monday the 22 and they changed their minds... She took her maternity leave early and everything because of it. Now she's going to have to take off extra time from work.
(This is the hospital that I was going to have to have baby #2 at... I don't think so. I will def. find somewhere else to go)

  1. They sound dumb. I am sorry. :/ Hopefully she will get to meet her baby soon. (At least you know now not to have this Baby there.)
