Randoms.

1. My car.
Sooo, on Friday I took Seth to school. It was freezing outside. I have this fear of leaving the girls in the car while I run Seth up to the school... Needless to say I got them out of the car and carried/dragged/ran to the building and up the steps. We got back down to the car and I took the girls coats off *See below* and buckled them into their car seats. I climbed into my seat and started the car. Nothing happened. That's right. For the second time, I took Seth to school and my car wouldn't start when I got back to it literally 5 minutes later. So, I called Brian grandpa... Thank goodness they live right across the street from us. We live like 6 minutes from Seth's school so it wasn't too long of a wait in the freezing cold. We attempted to charge my battery for a half hour. Still, nothing happened. So, I had to get Seth out of school an hour and a half early (which I hated because he has NEVER missed school while he's at our house.) Then we came home and Brian called the guy we got it from and he had it towed and fixed it!! We got it back the very next day!! I was super excited. I was scared it was going to take a while.
2.My house.
Sooo.. I have been super good about keeping the house amazingly clean. My house is never THAT messy. Sometimes when Brian has been off work and all 3 kids are here it will get a little out of hand.... The kitchen floor wont get swept or I wont get a chance to vacuum.. But for the most part my dishes are -always- done and I keep up with my laundry. Anyway, I am the type of person that HATES when people come over un-announced and my house has something wrong with it... Even if it's the kids toys all over the living room or something silly like that. So, one of my unofficial resolutions was to stay 100 percent on top of my house work.. I have been doing awesome with it! I am so proud of myself. My biggest challenge is Brian... He is like a child. Right now he has a pair of pants, socks, and shoes just laying on the living room floor. I'm going to beat him.
3. My child.
Poor Kayelynn is sick. :( She has has diarrhea for a week straight. Like horrible. I can't even put panties on her to continue potty training. She also had like eye boogers in her eyes constantly today. I would wipe her eyes and 5 minutes later they would be back. So, tomorrow I am making her a doctors appointment first thing in the morning. Poor baby girl. :(
4. Car seats.
Sooo, every one who has read my blog knows how I am about car seats and extended rear facing. Kayelynn is 22 months and still comfortably and happily rides rear facing. She has a car seat that rear faces until 40 pounds, so it will stay that way for a while. She's only 20 pounds now. Anyway, when my car broke down we had to fit all 3 car seats into Brian's tiny little Saturn. Kayelynn's car seat is so big that it would not safely fit into Brian's car rear facing. We had no other choice but to forward face her for the second time in her entire life. (The other time was when we had to put her in Brian's car to take her to my mom's when we went to go get married.) She did not like forward facing. The sun kept getting in her eyes and her legs were uncomfortable from hanging over the edge of the seat. Anyway, I was telling my mom about it and she starts like... making comments about Kayelynn still being rear facing. I was like "She will rear face until she's 3, possibly until she's 4." She was like she can't her legs will get smushed. Again I was like "Toddlers are more comfortable with their legs up in front of them than they are with their circulation being cut off from their legs dangling off the edge. Plus, broken legs can be fixed, broken necks can't." Then she starts going on about how she will weight too much. I said "No she wont. I specifically bought a car seat with one og the highest rear facing limits on weight and height. And she's only at half the weight limit now. Seth is still under the limits for this car seat and he could still rear face in it." Finally I just told her that I had done my research and ERF is 500% safer.
5. Me.
I will be ~21~ in 5 days!! And my party is in 6 days. My mom is going to watch Kayelynn, so we wont have any kids here. I am so excited. I'm also getting my tattoo some time around then. The only thing that sucks is I don't have anyone to watch Kayelynn on my actual birthday. So, I don't know how I'm going to get my license renewed.. I can't take her with me.. And Brian and I can't go out on a little date night that night now either unless we take Kayelynn with us... Which wont be a date. Hmph.
6.**
It might be a huge hassle, and make things more complicated, especially with it being freezing outside... But our kids don't wear coats in the car. I have to start my car 15 minutes before we leave. Then put their coats on them while we walk to my car. Get them in the car. Take their coats off, and then buckle them in. Then when we get out I have to unbuckle them and put their coats on before we can get back out. It sucks and make everything take double the time but I have 2 reason's for doing this. 1st... I know they get super hot when they are in the car with coats on with the heat on. 2nd... Put your child's coat on and put them in their car seat. Take your child out and take their coat off. Next put them back into the seat without adjusting the straps... See the difference? If you get into a wreck, their coats will compress and they can be ejected from the seat. Scarey.
Coat

No coat.

  3. I'll be 20 on Friday lol.
I'm with you on the coats for the same reason. I hate seeing kids in huge puffy coats in cars. Someone drove up to my work the other day and their kid was sitting in their lap in the front seat. I about died!
Glad you got your car fixed, and I hope Kayelynn feels better soon!
