I don't see how people in the south do it. You guys usually get hit worse than we do... And I freak out now. I could not live in the south. I seriously sit here and worry. Lol. We don't have a basement. Brian's grandma and grandpa used to live in a house with a basement... Whenever we were supposed to gut super bad weather, like during the summer when they had a ton of tornadoes, we would go to their house for the night. I seriously freak out. Especially when we have all 3 kids. I have no idea what we would actually do if there were a tornado. Pisses me right off.
You can buy these shelter things. They come in and dig a whole in your yard and then build an underground concrete shelter. I want one. Lol. Brian's uncle was going to go in half with us... And then they moved and Brian's grandparents live there now.
Anyways.... I guess that's it for my little rant. The thunder and lightening woke me up. I'm such a scared-y cat when it comes to storms and tornadoes.

I'm not usually, but ever since April I have been. We never had a tornado here... ever, so most people around here barely paid attention to tornado watches, but now we do.
ReplyDeleteAnd to top it off, we live a couple of miles from an airport, so last night, every time an air plane would take off, I would panic thinking it was a tornado. It was just not a good night for me.
One of those underground shelters sounds nice lol.
I love in deep south ga. Minutes from fl. We have lots of tornadoes also. It doesn't storm much here in the south but when it does storm it STORMS....hail,lightning,tordnadoes, and wild fires from lightning catching our dry grasses on fire. It takes days sometimes weeks/months to put one of those fires out. We don't have basements here. We can't. The water level is to high since we are near the ocean.
