Let me count the ways.
1. Kayelynn had a doctor's appointment to check on her lymph nodes. It's been a month. While they have went down a ton, one of them is still visible and swollen. We get there at 3:30. Her appointment was at 3:45. She didn't even get seen until 4:4. He prescribed her some more antibiotics. Then I asked about her eyes. Her right eye tends to go inwards sometimes. I don't know if it's actually doing it more, or if it's just me noticing it more now. He said he'd look, but that normally it gets noticed before now. First of all, my little brother has a lazy eye, and it got noticed around the same time. Secondly, her doctor has never looked for it. They look in them for 2 seconds and more on. Anyway, he never looked. So, I'm making her an eye doctor appointment tomorrow. Finally, I had to go pick Brian up for work. On the way home we were going to swing by and pick up the prescription. I had Brian call to make sure it was ready. Well, come to find out, the doctor sent the script to a Kroger an hour away!! WTF. The pharmacy that it was supposed to get sent to is 3 minutes away from the office. So, I have to get it tomorrow morning.
2. Our furnace went out. Again. $9,000 to get it fixed. I don't even freaking want to talk about it. Lol. I am so annoyed and aggravated. Thank god we have someone willing to work on it and help us out! This is the 4th time in the 2 years that we have lived here!! It's never worked for more than 6 months. Grrrr.
3. I NEED A VAN!! I am so sick and tired of not having my own car. Not to mention, Brian's car has 5 seats. When we have Seth and Paige on the weekends, that makes 6 people. So,we never get to go anywhere when they are here. It sucks because we're always stuck in the house!! Plus, I hate sharing the car. Brian works 45 minutes away. So days like yesterday when Kayelynn or Arralyn have a doctor's appointment I have to drive 45 minutes to take Brian to work then 45 minutes home. 10 minutes to the doctor's office and then 10 minutes home. Then 45 minutes to get Brian and 45 minutes to get home!! It's horrible. This goes with -
4. Brian did a seal coating job 3 MONTHS ago and still hasn't gotten paid for it. We need that money for the van!! They said they sent the check out 2 weeks ago, and still nothing. It's freaking ridiculous. We're supposed to go look at 2 vans tomorrow and let the guy know which one we want... No telling how long it will be before we can buy the damn thing.
5. My husband. Yea, yea. He works, I don't. Normally I do 150% of everything having to do with the house and kids. All I ask is that he takes out the garbage, puts his clothes in a hamper, and cleans out the bunny cage. Do you think he ever does it? No. So, I am on a cleaning strike, aside from everyone else's laundry. I didn't do one thing today concerning the house. And, when he got home, I asked how he liked the house. He said "I know, I didn't take the garbage out so you can't throw anything away." Ding, ding, ding. For 2 months I ignored it and just took the garbage out myself and picked up all his clothes from the floor. But I am so done. I do everything while also doing my school work and taking care of the kids. He can do 3 little things. So far, he still hasn't taken out the garbage. So, unless he remembers tomorrow before work, looks like I wont be lifting a finger again. (Even though I'm not doing anything but punishing myself. He doesn't care what the house looks like. Maybe I'll hold his X-Box hostage until he does what I ask. Then it will get done ASAP.)
6. My hair is falling out! Apparently this is a normal 3 month postpartum thing... But I can't stand it. I have really long hair, like 2 inches above my butt. Every time I take a shower or brush it, a ton of hair comes out. Even if I just run my hand down my pony tail, a handful of hair!! I swear it's 10 hairs at a time all day. I'm going to go bald. I do not want to get all my hair cut off... But I might have to at this rate!
**Disclaimer: I don't want this to come off like I'm some ungrateful wife or something. I appreciate everything Brian does for me and the kids. He works very hard so that I can stay home with the kids. I love being able to stay home and be a housewife. I'm cherishing every moment until the girl's go to school and I finish college/get a job. I do feel like the house is my responsibility, and I like taking care of it and the kids. But, I do need a little help. I don't think it's too much to ask that he puts his clothes in a hamper since I'm the one who is going to wash them and put them away. I also don't think it's too much to ask that he takes the garbage out since I do everything else. And the bunny cage, well, I'm not strong enough. That thing is huge.

Oh my. :/ That is a lot!
ReplyDelete$9,000? Would it be cheaper to put in Central Heat than to keep fixing the furnace? Have you guys ever thought about getting that insurance that covers you when something in your house breaks. It is pretty affordable.
I hope you get a van soon! I know it sucks not being able to take the kids anywhere fun, especially with Fall coming up.
Eh. The cleaning thing. I have the same issue with Jess. I just want him to take out the big trash can to the curb because I can't pull it up our giant hill/driveway. And then clean the litter box because HE wanted the cat, but nope. Never happens...Strike is a good idea.
It is central heat. :( It's a dual furnace that controls the heat and A/C.
ReplyDeleteWe have homeowners and renters insurance. (It's my grandma's house, but we took over her mortgage payments.) Apparently the flood insurance got canceled (by her) so they might not cover it.
We looked at the van. I'm IN LOVE. If everything works out we will be getting it within a week.
Oh okay. Shows how little I know about heat and air. Yah. I meant another kind of insurance you can take out in case something breaks, I like A/C, water heater, etc.
DeleteHope you get the van!
